CRS sector classification .
The OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) establishes, together with the reporting guidelines through the Creditor Reporting System (CRS), the classification and definition of the DAC sectors to which official development assistance is directed. This list arises from the convergence process for ODA reporting between the CRS guidelines and the DAC guidelines.
A number of principles have been established to be followed in the submission of proposals and in the process of updating the CRS classification with the aim of achieving stability in the statistical series on sectoral aid and ensuring comparability between member countries. To this end, the procedure and timetable for the submission and approval of proposals submitted to the DAC Secretariat has been defined.
This timetable makes it possible to work within the timeframe necessary for the agencies' sectoral experts to study the proposals. In addition, it details the implementation process that the proposals would entail and how they may affect the rest of the classification if approved.
